Glossary of terms.

co-creation:

working together toward a common goal by combining diverse expertise, skills and perspectives of multiple individuals or groups. Co-creation involves equal participation, mutual respect, and open communication among collaborators.

community wisdom:

shared knowledge, experiences, and insights held collectively by a local community. This wisdom is formed over time, often in place, using shared histories, culture, traditions, and lessons learned from past experiences.

reflective thinking:

way of thinking using data and analytics to inform decision-making, improve programs, and maximize impact. Reflective thinking often examines past experiences and lessons learned.

restorative knowledge creation:

using knowledge and practices to heal community. Restorative knowledge creation elevates healing over extraction and is influenced by community voice.

social sector:

a broad range of organizations including non-profits, foundations, government agencies, and philanthropists that work to provide a better way of life for individuals living on the margins.

strategy:

creation of a comprehensive roadmap to effectively and efficiently reach an organization’s goal or desired future, utilizing current resources.
